EDINBORO, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 25-1 win on the road at Edinboro University Saturday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game from Sox Harrison Stadium.

The Rock, which improved to 16-0 all-time against Edinboro, were never really challenged on the way to improving to 8-6 overall and 4-5 in PSAC West games. Edinboro dropped its 10th straight game to slip to 1-10 overall and 0-7 in PSAC West action.

Slippery Rock got a balanced scoring effort on the day with 15 different players tallying points and nine different players recording at least two points.

The Rock finished the game with advantages of 46-7 in shots, 25-5 in draw controls, 16-12 in ground balls and 7-6 in caused turnovers.

Emily Benham played limited minutes, but led SRU with six points on three goals and three assists to bring her season total to 70 points, moving her up to No. 2 on the all-time single-season scoring ledger at SRU. She needs just one point to tie Kaytlin Callaghan's SRU record of 71 points and has three regular season games to break that record.

Camryn Whipple also scored six points on four goals and two assists to match Benham for game-high honors.
Jamie DiCarlo added three goals and one assist and
Rachel Mahoney,
Katie Dlugosz and
Emily Mox each scored two goals and handed out one assist.

Brooke Wisniewski tallied one goal and two assists and
Lauren Searles and
Eryn Little each scored two goals to cap the multiple-point scorers.
Victoria Ziemba,
Amelia Nitsche,
Krysta Frankowski and
Charleigh Rondeau all scored one goal and
Molly Buettner and
Brooke Kelly each had one assist to round out the scorers.

Rondeau also grabbed a game-high 10 draw controls to bring her season total to 114, just four shy of Lauren Laubach's single-season SRU record of 118 set in 2013.

Gillian O'Rourke played the first half in goal and was not forced to make a save.
Izzie Sutton played the second half and made one save while allowing one goal.

Edinboro got one goal from Traci Culver and one assist from Sophia Bernardoni. Kaitlyn Binotto made 12 saves in goal.

Slippery Rock is still alive in the hunt for a PSAC playoff spot, but likely must win all three of its final games to stay in that playoff picture and could still need help. SRU currently sits in fifth place in the PSAC West, 1.5 games behind Mercyhurst (4-3) in the third and final playoff position and a half-game behind Lock Haven (4-4) in the fourth spot.

Saturday marked SRU's final regular season away game as The Rock will close out the season with three straight home games. The first of those games will be Tuesday when Gannon visits Mihalik-Thompson Stadium for a 4 p.m. game.
