EDINBORO, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team snapped a three-game losing skid with a convincing 19-7 win on the road at Edinboro University Tuesday evening in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game from Sox Harrison Stadium.

The Rock improved to 2-3 overall and 1-3 in PSAC West games with the win, while also remaining perfect all-time against Edinboro and improving to 14-0 in the series. The Fighting Scots were making their season debut Tuesday.

Slippery Rock never trailed in the game, jumping out to an 8-1 lead in the first 22 minutes. Edinboro rallied to cut the deficit to 9-6 at the half, but SRU slammed the door with a 10-1 showing in the second half.

The Rock fired a season-high 51 shots in the game and were credited with advantages of 51-14 in shots, 18-9 in draw controls and 28-13 in ground balls. SRU went 10-of-15 on clear attempts and limited Edinboro to just 8-of-21 on the clear.

Molly Buettner led the attack with six points on four goals and three assists.
Jamie DiCarlo added three goals and two assists and
Emily Benham handed out five assists.
Emily Mox and
Rachel Mahoney each tallied two goals and one assist, while
Katie Dlugosz and
Charleigh Rondeau each scored two goals. Rondeau also finished with a game-high 10 draw controls.

Mikayla Simms and
Camryn Whipple each scored one goal and
Sam Barnhart added one assist to cap the scorers.

Gillian O'Rourke earned the win in goal after making six saves.

Edinboro got three goals and one assist from Sophie Depalma. Christina Clutter allowed 15 goals and made 20 saves in 46:32 in net. Kaitlyn Binotto made four saves and allowed four goals in 13:28 of action.
Slippery Rock will now have a week off before returning to PSAC West play at home next Wednesday, March 31 at 4 p.m. against Gannon.
