GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Seton Hill University women's lacrosse team erased a 6-5 lead midway through the second half and closed the game on a 6-0 run to pull away for an 11-6 victory over Slippery Rock University Tuesday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.

The two teams traded goals for the entire first half and neither team led by more than one goal until Seton Hill's late rally. The Griffins took a 5-4 lead to halftime that was erased when The Rock scored the first two goals of the second half to lead 6-5 with 15:04 to play. Seton Hill tied the game at 6-6 with 13:38 to play and would end up scoring six goals in the final 14 minutes to pull away.

Slippery Rock drops to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in PSAC games with the loss. Seton Hill improves to 6-5 overall and 4-2 in league games.

The Rock finished the game with a 24-22 advantage in total shots, but 11 of those shots were off target as Seton Hill posted a 19-13 edge in shots on goal. The Griffins also finished with advantages of 10-9 in draw controls and 32-23 in ground balls.

Slippery Rock's attack was paced by
ShyAnne Toomer and
Sami Gentzler with two goals each.
Tori Penders and
Emily Benham each scored one goal and
Kelly Muenster handed out one assist to cap the point scorers.

Danie Porath led the defense with two caused turnovers and four ground balls and
Haley Barrett recorded eight saves and seven ground balls in goal.

Seton Hill got a hat trick from Keagan Pontious and four points on one goal and three assists from Taylor Fox-Trudel. Hailey Jacobs recorded seven saves to earn the win in goal.

Slippery Rock will return home after a two-game road swing and will host Millersville Sunday at 3 p.m.
