BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team saw a two-game winning streak snapped with a 14-7 loss on the road at Bloomsburg University Saturday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game.

The loss drops The Rock to 5-7 overall, 4-5 in PSAC games and 0-6 in road games this season. Bloomsburg improves to 10-3 overall and 6-2 in PSAC games with the victory.

The Huskies jumped out to a 12-2 halftime lead and SRU would trim the margin to no closer than seven goals in the second half. Bloomsburg finished the game with advantages of 41-27 in total shots and 29-16 in shots on goal. Slippery Rock managed advantages of 13-10 in draw controls and 28-27 in ground balls.

The SRU attack was paced by
ShyAnne Toomer,
Hayley Pimentel and
Tori Penders with two goals each.
Emily Benham added one goal and
Kelly Muenster handed out one assist to cap the point scorers.

Toomer also finished with six draw controls and four caused turnovers, while
Rachel Shaw and
Danie Porath each recorded three caused turnovers.

Haley Barrett made 15 saves and finished with a .517 save percentage.

Bloomsburg got seven points from Grace Kelleher, who finished with four goals and three assists. Erika Biehl added a hat trick and Angela DiPasquale made nine saves in goal.Â

Slippery Rock will look to get back in the win column and even its PSAC record when it travels to Mercyhurst Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game.
