Camie Shumaker hurled a complete-game against Fairmont St. scattering six hits and surrendering two runs, but was unable to get much run support.

Game One: Slippery Rock 1 – Fairmont State 2
Both pitchers were solid in the contest, but FSU's go-ahead RBI double in the third inning would prove to be the difference.

Fairmont took an early lead in the top of the second when Heidi Hormell hit an RBI double scoring Haley McDaniel.

The Rock answered back in the bottom half of the inning to tie it. Maggie Moore started SRU off with a double, and that was followed by a Kailey Myers RBI double to knot the game up, 1-1.

In the top of the third, Fairmont St. took the lead back on an RBI double by Courtney Worcester scoring Carly Clarke putting them ahead, 2-1.

SRU put runners in scoring position in the bottom of the fifth and the seventh innings, but were unable to push across a run, falling to FSU, 2-1.

Shumaker (1-4) took the loss going all seven innings surrendering two runs on six hits while punching out four.

Hannah Absalom (1-1) earned the win pitching a complete-game allowing one run on four hits and striking out five.

Game Two: Slippery Rock 3 – Wayne State 9
In game two, Slippery Rock had a 3-1 lead thanks in part to Guglielmino and Myers who tallied an RBI apiece. Unfortunately, WSU recorded four runs in the bottom of the third, and four in the fifth inning to earn the 9-3 win.

After Wayne State put a run on the board in the first, Slippery Rock looked to answer in the top of the third. Becca Roesch got things started with a single up the middle. Cortney Claypoole then bunted and it was misplayed by the first baseman putting two runners on. Caitlyn MacKelvey tried to drop down a bunt and on the throw over to first, it was misplayed again allowing Roesch to score. Guglielmino then drove in Claypoole with a single, and Myers would later hit a sacrifice fly to put The Rock ahead, 3-1.

The Warriors would answer back with four runs in the bottom half of the third. Brooke Turkalj doubled to score Hannah McClounie. With the bases loaded, Rachelle Clayton walked scoring Bryanna Kressler. Rose Myers would later double to score two runs giving Wayne State a 5-3 advantage.

In the fifth, Wayne State registered a pair of 2 RBI doubles to give them a 9-3 lead and held the Rock hitless in the last few frames getting the win.
