SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. - Kyle Daggett made a desperation attempt from half court as time expired to give Shepherd University an 83-80 victory in overtime against the Slippery Rock men's basketball team on Saturday.

The Rock and Rams exit the game with identical 4-4 overall records and 1-2 marks in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

Trailing 80-77 with just seconds to play in overtime,
Will Robinson Jr. connected on a corner 3-pointer with just three seconds left to seemingly send the game into a second overtime period before Daggett dashed SRU's comeback hopes with his buzzer-beater shot from mid-court.

0.6 seconds were put back on the clock following a referee discussion after Daggertt's shot, but The Rock's ensuing inbounds pass was tipped away to seal the Rams' win.

Donovan Walker led four Rock players in double figures Saturday with a team-high 22 points. Fellow guard
Jared Armstrong produced 18 points as well to go with a team-best four assists.

Will Robinson Jr. and
Deontae Robertson both recorded double-doubles with Robinson Jr. collecting 19 points and 10 rebounds and Robertson tallying 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Amante Britt,
Lashon Lindsey and
Jason Fowlkes all added two points apiece to round out SRU's top scorers with Lindsey also pulling in four rebounds.
Andre Seadey and
Revelinio Tholel hauled in four rebounds each as well.

Shepherd led for the majority of Saturday's contest, but Slippery Rock stayed within striking distance of the Rams for the duration of the contest and eventually tied the game at 59-59 via a layup by Armstrong with 3:52 remaining in the second half.

SRU went on to stretch its lead out to six points with 47 seconds to play before Shepherd rallied back to force overtime and ultimately win the game, 83-80, in the extra five minutes via Dagget's last-second shot.

Slippery Rock shot a stellar 48.5 percent (33-of-68) from the field overall despite going just 7-of-20 (35 percent) from 3-point territory. SRU converted seven of its 10 free throw attempts as well.

The Rock held a 43-32 edge in rebounds in addition to advantages in points off turnovers (11-8), second chance points (11-4), points in the paint (40-24) and bench scoring (19-3).

Shepherd shot 44.6 percent (29-of-65) from the field overall and connected on 43.8 percent (14-of-32) of its 3-pointers while making 68.8 percent (11-of-16) of its foul shots. Daggett led all Rams with 21 points and six rebounds.

While Slippery Rock did a great job of protecting the basketball with just eight turnovers, Shepherd managed to narrowly out-do Slippery Rock with just five miscues.

Slippery Rock will host Salem University 3 p.m. Dec. 15 at Morrow Field House in a non-conference game. The Rock defeated the Tigers, 79-51, on the road a season ago.
