WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University field hockey team lost on the road to No. 2 West Chester University, 5-0, Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest.

Slippery Rock (2-8, 0-3 PSAC) limited the nationally ranked Golden Rams (8-0, 3-0 PSAC) to just one goal in the first half, but WCU ended The Rock's upset hopes by scoring four times over a 16-minute stretch midway through the second half on the way to its five-goal victory.

With West Chester leading by just one goal coming out of the halftime break Slippery Rock nearly tied the contest early in the third quarter, but a pair of shots by Jessie Trube went wide and another attempt by Lauren Marks was saved by goalkeeper Claire Nielsen as West Chester managed to fend off The Rock's attack before countering with its aforementioned goal onslaught to put the game away.

Trube and Courtney Page finished the game tied for the team lead in shots at two apiece. Both of Page's attempts were on goal. Marks and Madison Posivak rounded out SRU's attack with one shot each.
