TIFFIN, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team fell 1-0 at Tiffin University to begin its 2018 campaign.
George Oakley and
Kenton Keeslar both had one shot on goal in the loss.

Tiffin was able to put one past goalkeeper
Matt Hunsberger with seven seconds remaining in the first half. It was Abdoul Magid Sy's first goal of the season.

Hunsberger played all 90 minutes and recorded the loss. He registered five saves on six shots on goal.

Oakley recorded three shots while
Alexander Vilchek and
Sean Tinney both tallied two shots. Keeslar also managed one shot in the contest.

With the loss, Slippery Rock falls to 0-1-0 to begin the 2018 season while Tiffin improves to 1-0-0.

GOAL: TU 1, ROCK 0; 44:53: Magid Sy fired a shot past Hunsberger into the net unassisted.

GAME NOTES
- Hunsberger played all 90 minutes for the first time in his career. He also posted a career-high in saves with five.
- Tiffin was greeted to by four Rock freshmen in the starting lineup including Dan Schearer, Omar Bangura, Mohsen Kanani and Vilchek.
- Tiffin's win over SRU breaks the tie in the all-time series. Previously, SRU and TU had played two matchups, both resulting in draws.
- SRU's two shots on goal are the least they've recorded in a game since October 21, 2017 against West Chester when it also tallied two shots on goal.
