SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team won its fourth straight game to close out the 2018 portion of the schedule with a 90-72 victory over Bloomsburg University Wednesday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover game at Morrow Field House.

The Rock improved to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in PSAC games with the win, while Bloomsburg dropped to 3-6 overall and 1-4 in PSAC games with the loss. After starting the year at 1-4, SRU has won five of its last six games and enters a brief holiday break on a four-game winning streak.

Slippery Rock took the lead for good just shy of seven minutes into the first half Wednesday night. The Rock built the advantage up to as much as 10 points before Bloomsburg closed the gap to five points at 41-36 at halftime.

That would be the closest the Huskies would get the rest of the way as SRU opened the second half with an 8-0 run and led by double digits for most of the period.

Slippery Rock shot 47.9 percent from the field (35-of-73) and had another strong showing from beyond the 3-point line, making 8-of-19 attempts from long range (42.1 percent). The Rock shot 70.6 percent from the free throw line (12-of-17) and posted a 49-38 advantage in total rebounds.

Bloomsburg was limited to 39.1 percent shooting from the field (27-of-69), 19 percent from 3-point (4-of-21) and 66.7 percent from the free throw line (14-of-21).

Slippery Rock got a balanced scoring effort from its lineup with eight different players scoring at least five points.
Micah Till stuffed the box score with a game-high double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds to go along with five assists, two blocks and two steals.
Jared Armstrong and
John Warren II each added 13 points and Warren grabbed six rebounds, handed out four assists, blocked two shots and recorded two steals as well.

Nick Barney knocked down three 3-pointers to finish with nine points,
Will Bounds scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds and
Nolen Gerald scored seven points and grabbed four boards.
Amante Britt added six points and
Vinny Lasley scored five points, pulled down 10 rebounds and handed out three assists.

Bloomsburg was paced by Travis Elmore with 23 points and nine rebounds. Sekou Fofana added 12 points and Ky Mauras scored 10 points.

After playing three games in the last five days, Slippery Rock will now get a short break to catch its breath during the holidays. The Rock will open PSAC Western Division play when they return to action at home against Seton Hill Jan. 2.
