SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Seven players finished in double figures for a 115-75 victory by the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team against Ohio University Eastern Tuesday night at Morrow Field House.

The non-conference win improved The Rock's record to 2-4 on the season overall. Ohio Eastern's record drops to 4-2 with the loss.

Ohio Eastern kept the game relatively close early on as it trailed The Rock by 15 points, 54-39, at halftime. However, Slippery Rock scored the first 14 points of the second half to jump start a dominating second 20 minutes of action in which SRU outscored OUE 61-36 on the way to a 40-point victory. For the game, Slippery Rock led for all but 26 seconds.

Slippery Rock shot 51.1 percent (45-for-88) from the field overall, 37.9 percent (11-for-29) from 3-point range and 70 percent (14-for-20) from the foul line. SRU also pulled down a season-high 57 rebounds, 22 of which came on the offensive glass, en route to a +25 rebound margin.

The Rock also advantages over the Panthers in blocks (6-3), steals (6-4), assists (23-8), points in the paint (60-28), points off turnovers (14-8), second chance points (31-11) and fast break points (22-2).

Defensively, Slippery Rock held Ohio Eastern to a 36.2 field goal percentage (25-for-69) while forcing the Panthers into 23 turnovers.

As has been the case for the majority of his two-year career at The Rock,
Micah Till was once again dominant on Tuesday. The redshirt junior forward secured his first double-double of the season with 27 points and 11 rebounds, seven of which were offensive, to go with five assists and three blocks. While he had an uncharacteristically off night from the foul line of just 3-for-8, Till was a near flawless 11-for-14 from the field.

Vinny Lasley registered the third double-double of his Slippery Rock career with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Lasley, who also passed out four assists and blocked a pair of shots against the Panthers, has 30 rebounds over The Rock's last two games.

Jared Armstrong went 4-for-8 from 3-point range to finish with 20 points in only 17 minutes of playing time. Armstrong has now scored 20 points in back-to-back games.

Nick Barney came off the bench to tally 12 points before fouling out in just under 15 minutes of action. Fellow reserves
Will Bounds and
Jason Fowlkes chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively, with Bounds also pulling in eight rebounds.

Nolen Gerald rounded out The Rock's top performers Tuesday with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

SRU is a perfect 14-0 all-time against Ohio Eastern in a series that started during the 2008-09 season. Since the inception of the series, Slippery Rock has averaged 111 points per game against OUE.

Slippery Rock will now turn its focus towards Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competition starting 5 p.m. Dec. 3 on the road in a crossover game at East Stroudsburg University.
