BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team fell, 4-1, Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match at Bloomsburg University. SRU's
Devin Hoffman registered the team's lone goal in the contest.

Bloomsburg tallied two goals in the first half and SRU bounced back with one, but the Huskies added two more scores in the second period to close out the contest.

It was all quiet until the 21st minute when BU's Bawe Salehi made it a 1-0 BU lead firing a shot from 30 yards out for the goal.

At 33:32, Bloomsburg's Tyler Madeira scored his first of three goals on the day after
Matt Hunsberger came out of the goal and Madeira played the shot in around him for the score.

Hoffman answered back in the closing minutes of the first half when
Omar Bangura fed him a pass that he deposited into the net to cut the lead to 2-1 in favor of BU.

In the 71st minute, Madeira recorded his second goal of the contest to give Bloomsburg a 3-1 lead, and at 79:47, Madeira finished off his hat trick when Carter Luckenbaugh fed him a pass that he fired into the back of the net. The Huskies then held off The Rock in the final 10 minutes of the game en route to the win, 4-1.

BU led in shots, 16-12, and in shots on goal, 9-5. Hoffman recorded two of SRU's shots on goal, while Bangura,
Alexander Vilchek and
George Oakley managed one apiece.

Slippery Rock falls to 4-6-2 overall and 2-3-1 in league games while Bloomsburg improves to 6-5-0 and 3-3-0 in PSAC contests.

- Slippery Rock's all-time series record against Bloomsburg is now 13-12-5.
- SRU's four goals surrendered is tied for the second-most its allowed in a contest this season.
- It's just the second time The Rock has surrendered a hat trick to an opposing team. SRU's last opponent to score a hat trick was against Dowling back in 2006.
- Bangura recorded his third assist of the season while Hoffman recorded his first goal of 2018.
