SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa – Thanks to a hot start Wednesday, the Slippery Rock University field hockey team defeated Seton Hill University, 3-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
The win improved Slippery Rock's record to 6-8 on the year and 1-5 in PSAC play. Seton Hill remains winless, holding a record of 0-13 overall and 0-6 in league games.

Emily Polakovsky all recorded goals for The Rock in Wednesday's contest to defeat Seton Hill. Assists were made by Seniors

Hannah Simone. Defensively, senior
Sam Geroski recorded her career first defensive save.
Just over a minute into to the game Seton Hill fouled The Rock forcing a penalty corner taken by junior
Kalie Reed. Reed played the ball into Wolfe who centered a pass into Ulrich for the goal.During the 11th minute
Trube fired a shot past Seton Hill goalkeeper Emma Jorgensen off an assist from Simone to give The Rock a 2-0 lead.
Seton Hill recorded its first shot of the matchup in the 14th minute, but the attempt was stopped by Geroski. Two minutes later The Rock answered with Polakovsky's goal off Wolfe's second assist of the game to send SRU into halftime leading 3-0.
During the second half Slippery Rock recorded eight shots six of which were on goal while not allowing a single shot from Seton Hill to close out the game with a 3-0 victory.
For the game, Slippery Rock held advantages over Seton Hill in shots (19-2), shots on goal (13-1) and penalty corners (7-0).

Hannah Downing and freshman
Diana Dombrowski all tallying one shot on goal as well.
Goalkeeper
Maddie Murphy did not face a shot on goal over 70 minutes in the shutout-win.

NOTES
• With Wednesday's goal, Ulrich now holds sole possession of sixth place at SRU all-time in career goals with 18. She has a team-high seven scores this season.
• Trube's goal was her fourth of the year, the fifth most by a freshman at SRU all-time.
• Ulrich's goal was also the third fastest goal to begin a game in program history.
• The Rock set a season-high in total shots against Seton Hill. Prior to Wednesday's 19 attempts, SRU's previous high in 2018 was 18 against both Belmont Abbey (Sept. 8) and American International (Sept. 3).
• Wednesday also marked the first time this season that Slippery Rock went a whole game without allowing a penalty corner.
