ERIE, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University volleyball team lost in three sets to No. 23 Gannon (25-18, 25-19, 25-13) Saturday at the Hammermill Center in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Northwest Division loss drops The Rock's record to 7-12 overall and 4-7 in league matches. The nationally ranked Golden Knights improve to 21-1 overall and 10-1 in conference competition.

Shayla Ray and sophomore
Erinn Kahoe paced The Rock's efforts on Saturday. Ray recorded eight kills, two blocks and a .318 attack percentage (8-1-22) while Kahoe totaled nine kills and a steallar .304 hitting percentage (9-2-23).

Gabby Huck (five kills), senior
Beth Stumpf (three kills) and junior
Kaley Fucci (two kills) rounded out The Rock's attack.

Zoe Rivet passed out 24 assists and sophomore
Jalyn Willard produced a team-best 17 digs. The trio of Rivet, Kahoe and freshman
Lauren Weber served up one ace apiece.

For the match, Gannon held advantages over Slippery Rock in attack percentage (.257-.188), kills (43-27), aces (19-3) and digs (60-50). Lauren Sampson registered 15 kills and four aces to guide Gannon.

SRU, which has won three of its last five matches, will look to rebound from Saturday's loss with a victory 7 p.m. Friday against Bloomsburg University at Morrow Field House. Â
