CLARION, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team bounced back from its first loss in more than a month with a convincing 98-69 win on the road Wednesday night at Clarion University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division action from Tippin Gymnasium.

The Rock wasted little time in rebounding from Monday night's loss that snapped a 10-game winning streak, jumping out to a 52-24 lead at halftime and never being threatened in the second half on their way to improving to 13-3 overall and 7-3 in PSAC games. Clarion dropped to 3-13 overall and 0-10 in league games.

Slippery Rock shot 49.4 percent from the field (42-of-85), 35.7 percent from 3-point (10-of-28) and 44.4 percent from the free throw line (4-of-9). The Rock posted a 53-31 edge in total rebounds and turned 21 offensive boards into a 23-3 advantage in second chance points.

Clarion shot 42.4 percent from the field (25-of-59), 21.4 percent from 3-point (3-of-14) and 53.3 percent at the free throw line (16-of-30).

The Rock got a balanced scoring effort Wednesday night with 10 players contributing and five players finishing in double figures.
Micah Till led the way with his 11th double-double of the year with 22 points and 12 rebounds in just 25 minutes.

Tony Gates scored 14 points off the bench and
Brandon Simmons added 12 points and eight rebounds.
Gabe Mack chipped in 11 points and
Bruce Spruell scored 10 points and handed out five assists in just 17 minutes.

Merdic Green added nine points and five rebounds,
Christal Malalu and
Khyree Wooten each scored six points and
Aaron McDonald handed out seven assists to cap the top performers.

Clarion was paced by Cameron Grumley with 19 points, Brandon Williams with 16 points and Khari Williams with 10 points.

Slippery Rock will return home to Morrow Field House Saturday to host Mansfield University at 3 p.m. in the final PSAC crossover game of the season.
