SRU scored both its goals in the first period and defensively was able to holdout the attack from the Griffins. SHU did manage to score once with a little over 10 minutes left to play in regulation, but The Rock held on for the victory.

Slippery Rock's record improves to 5-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in league matches. The Griffins drop to 6-3-1 overall and 4-3-1 in PSAC play.

The Rock took the lead at 28:29 when Shannon McIntyre played a ball to Barackman that she flicked on to Testa, who put it into the back of the net for a score. It was Testa's second goal of the season, while the assists were McIntyre and Barackman's first of the year.

Just over three minutes later, at 31:34, McIntyre then sent a ball into the box for Barackman and she deposited it into the back of the net for a score. The goal was Barackman's second of the season and the assist was McIntyre's second of the game, and second of 2017. SRU took its 2-0 lead into the break.
