SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- The Slippery Rock University softball team split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division doubleheader Sunday afternoon against Seton Hill University at the SRU Softball Complex.

Slippery Rock dropped the first game of the doubleheader, 7-0, before rolling to 5-0 win in game two. The split moves Slippery Rock to 17-20 overall and 7-9 in PSAC action. Seton Hill's record goes to 16-21 overall and 8-6 in the conference.

Emily Nagle went 5-for-7 in the doubleheader with a stolen base and one run scored. With her three hits in game one, Nagle broke Slippery Rock's single-season hits record of 60, previously held by head coach
Stacey Rice in 2007. Nagle now has 63 hits with at least four games remaining in her junior year.

Additionally,
Alexa Guglielmino recorded two hits, two RBI and one run across two games, while
Lauren Hawley had three hits and two RBI.

GAME ONE: Seton Hill 7, Slippery Rock 0
The Rock got out to a rough start in the first inning of game one, as the Griffins took a 4-0 lead. Ashley Perillo recorded an RBI single to left center, Abbey Suhoski had a two-run homer and Amanda Huff registered an RBI single to centerfield to give the visitors the early lead.

The Griffins added to that lead in the third inning when Perillo blasted her first home run of the year. Seton Hill scored two more runs in the fourth inning, one forced in by a hit by pitch and the other on a wild pitch.

Nagle was a perfect 3-for-3 in game one, while Hawley, Guglielmino and
Kailey Myers all recorded hits for The Rock.

Carly DeRose took the loss for Slippery Rock after allowing four runs in the first half of the opening inning.
Paige Flore also allowed three runs and struck out one in her 2.2 innings of relief.
Andria Copelli saw time in the circle for the final 3.2 innings of the game and struck out one batter.

GAME TWO: Slippery Rock 5, Seton Hill 0
The start of game two was sung to a different tune as Slippery Rock registered three hits in the first inning, followed by four hits and four runs in the second. Guglielmino started the scoring attack in the second inning when she smacked an RBI single to left center to score
McKenzie Garland.
Megan Brown scored Guglielmino on an RBI single up the middle,
Caitlin Baxter scored Nagle on an sacrifice fly to right field and Hawley sent Brown home on a single to left center to make it a 4-0 game.

The Rock scored its final run in the fifth inning when Guglielmino tallied her second RBI of the game to score Myers on a ground out to shortstop.

Offensively, Nagle, Brown and Hawley had two hits apiece, while Guglielmino's two RBI led the scoring.

Brooke Dawson earned the win in her 13th complete game of the spring as she improves to 11-7 on the year.

Slippery Rock will host Edinboro University Friday afternoon in the final home doubleheader of the season. Friday will also be The Rock's Senior Day. Slippery Rock's three seniors will be honored between games of the doubleheader.
