SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team fell to 22nd ranked West Chester University 2-1 Saturday afternoon at James Egli Field.
Prior to the game, Slippery Rock honored four seniors for SRU's Senior Day.

Maddy Smith and
Maddy Tletski were all honored before the match for their outstanding careers for the Slippery Rock University women's soccer program.
The Rock recorded a goal early in the first period. WCU answered back with a goal of its own 11 minutes into the second half. In the 85th minute, the Golden Rams were able to put one in the net for a score and hold on for the 2-1 win.
With the loss, Slippery Rock drops to 9-5-2 overall and 9-4-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play. West Chester improves to 12-2-1 overall and 12-2-0 in conference games.

Brooke Testa sent a shot on target that WCU goalkeeper McKenna Mullin saved.
At 11:18, SRU almost took the lead again when
Shannon McIntyre got a shot off, but Mullin made the stop.
In the 22nd minute, Tletski and
Kaitlyn Barackman worked together to play a ball in front of the net for
Skye Kramer. Kramer deposited it into the net for the score. It was Kramer's fifth goal of the season. For Barackman, it was her third assist of 2017 and it was Tletski's second of the year. The Rock took the lead, 1-0.
West Chester threatened in the final five minutes of the half as they were able to fire two shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Kylie Downs made stops on both of them and The Rock took its 1-0 advantage into the break.
Eleven minutes into the second period Jenny Bail took corner kick for West Chester that she played into the box for Brittaney Reffit who headed the ball into the net for a score. The Golden Rams tied the game, 1-1.
Slippery Rock continued its attack throughout the period and at 79:56, Kramer nearly gave The Rock the lead when she sent a shot on target, but Mullin made the save.
Unfortunately, at 85:42, West Chester took a late 2-1 lead when a ball was crossed into the box that deflected off a Rock defender finding its way into the net.
SRU almost sent the game into overtime at 86:11 when Tletski fired a shot that just barely went wide. The Golden Rams held on for the 2-1 victory.
Slippery Rock held the advantage in shots on goal in the game, 10-9.
Downs made seven saves in the net for The Rock bringing her season total to 63. She currently has a .780 goals against average, which ranks fifth in the PSAC.
Up next, Slippery Rock will conclude its regular season schedule at Shippensburg 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28.
