SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team defeated Shippensburg 3-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match Saturday afternoon to conclude its regular season.

The Rock needed just three goals in the first half in order to beat the Raiders. Shippensburg was unable to mount a comeback in the second half as SRU held on for the victory.

With the win, Slippery Rock improves to 10-5-2 overall and 10-4-2 in PSAC play, while the Raiders fall to 6-11-1 for the year and 5-11-0 in league matches.

SRU tallied a goal early when at 5:07 Kaitlyn Barackman was able to find the net when Brooke Testa fed her a pass that she deposited into the top right corner of the net from 20 yards out. The Rock took a 1-0 lead.

Seven minutes later at 12:40, it was Testa who received a pass from Elise Forry that she fired into the goal for the score to make it a 2-0 Slippery Rock lead.

Just four minutes later, Maddy Tletski got a pass from Testa that she sent past the goalkeeper for the score. SRU went on top, 3-0.

Sofia Harrison nearly made it a 4-0 lead at 41:03 when she sent a shot on target, but goalkeeper Delaney Shifflett made the save. The Rock took its 3-0 lead into the break.

Out of the half, Barackman nearly scored again when she fired one that the Raiders defense was able to stop.

Shippensburg's best chance to get on the scoreboard was at 82:56 when Kat Hartner took a shot that just went high. Slippery Rock held on for the 3-0 lead.

Testa's goal and two assists now bring her season point total to 19. She ranks first in the PSAC in assists with nine.

Goalkeeper Kylie Downs registered her seventh individual shutout of the year which ranks tied for first in the conference.

Slippery Rock outshot the Raiders 26-6 and held the advantage in shots on goal, 14-4.
