LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Slippery Rock University softball team dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader against Lock Haven University on Sunday afternoon at Lawrence Field.
Lock Haven outlasted Slippery Rock in the opener to win 4-3 (eight innings), before they went on to take Game Two, 5-2.
With the wins, Lock Haven improved to 17-7 overall and extended its win streak to nine games. Slippery Rock falls to 9-10 overall and will open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play on Friday against California University of Pennsylvania. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 2:30 p.m.

Stacey Herzog recorded two hits in Game One and sophomore
Emily Nagle had two in Game Two to lead The Rock against the Bald Eagles.

Carly DeRose (4-3) took the loss in the opener after she recorded four strike outs, five walks and six hits. Sophomore pitcher
Paige Flore (3-2) was tagged with the loss in the second game after recording two strike outs, four walks and five hits.
Game One: Lock Haven 4, Slippery Rock 3 (8 Innings)Lock Haven got an early two-run lead on The Rock in the first inning, but SRU fought back with three runs in the top of the third, sparked by freshman
Katie Skolnick's single up the middle. Sophomore
Lauren Hawley also singled up the middle and senior
Megan Maloney hit a two RBI single that scored Skolnick and freshman
Caitlyn MacKelvey, who pinch ran for Hawley, and also advanced senior
Katie Kaiser, who reached base on a walk. Kaiser scored SRU's third run on an error by LHU's catcher to give the team a one-run lead.
The Bald Eagles plated one run in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game up. Neither team was able to break the tie until Lock Haven scored on a walk off RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to take Game One.
Game Two: Lock Haven 5, Slippery Rock 2 SRU jumped Lock Haven in the first inning with two runs, started by Kaiser's double to left center. Senior
Ashley Samluk smacked an RBI double down the left field line and then scored on a wild pitch to give The Rock an early lead against the hosts.
The Bald Eagles scored one run in the third and had a big sixth inning with three more runs to complete the sweep.
