SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 14 Kutztown University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
Slippery Rock will now turn its attention to the upcoming PSAC Tournament where as the fifth seed it will travel to fourth seed East Stroudsburg Tuesday for a first round match.
The Rock closes out the regular season with an overall record of 10-7-1 and a 10-5-1 mark in league contests. Kutztown improved to 15-3 overall and 13-3 in conference play with the win. Kutztown will enter the PSAC Tournament as the second seed and will host either Indiana (Pa.) or Bloomsburg in an opening-round match.
Slippery Rock and East Stroudsburg, which was ranked third in the country at the time, played to a 1-1 tie at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium earlier in the season.

Slippery Rock could never truly get started offensively Saturday and Kutztown capitalized first with a goal in the 20th minute followed by another goal late in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Golden Bears put the game away early in the second half with a pair of goals over the opening six minutes on the way its 4-0 win.
Maddy Tletski, who had a team-high three shots, led slippery Rock on the day.
Andrea Felix and
Tyler Spence added two shots as well while Demich and
Skye Kramer both chipped in one shot apiece.
For the game, Kutztown held advantages over The Rock in total shots (13-9) and shots on goal (7-4). Each team recorded four corner kicks.
Prior to Saturday's game The Rock's senior class of Felix, Demich, Thornton,
Megan Lenzi,
Ariana Daukss and
Lynn Neef were recognized for their contributions to the program over the last four years.
Regardless of what happens in its first-round game against ESU, Slippery Rock has secured its 21st consecutive winning season, the seventh longest streak in NCAA Division II history.
Slippery Rock and East Stroudsburg are tentatively set to play at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Slippery Rock has won its first round game in the PSAC Tournament in five of the last six years.
