McKay's three-goal performance, aided by individual goals scored by sophomores Kailee Krupski and Alyssa Castle and freshman Kelsie Reese, powered The Rock to its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference win of the season. SRU improves to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play with the shutout, while Mansfield falls to 0-9, 0-3.

McKay scored just 3:29 into the contest when she played a blocked shot into the goal from five yards out. She scored again six minutes later on a penalty stroke to give The Rock an early 2-0 lead.

Just 2:35 into the second half, McKay beat the keeper left side when she took a pass from senior Courtney Bradshaw.

Later in the half, Krupski dribbled around the keeper and beat her right side to extend SRU's lead to 4-0 in the 43rd minute.

Reese recorded her first career goal in the 62nd minute on a breakaway, finishing on a shot between the keeper's legs. Castle scored for The Rock just two minutes later on another assist from Bradshaw to give SRU the six-goal win.

Slippery Rock held a 28-9 advantage in total shots and a 5-3 advantage in penalty corners over the Mounties.
