Box Score (HTML)SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- The Slippery Rock University field hockey team lost to No. 2 Millersville, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
With the loss, Slippery Rock falls to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action. Millersville improves to 7-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Margaret Thorwart recorded her first goal of the season for the Marauders 8:54 into the game on a scrum in front of the cage. Megan Donlan was credited with the poke-through to Thorwart on the right side of the box.
Thorwart scored again for Millersville on a penalty shot with 20 ticks left in the first half to put the visitors up 2-0.
In the 63rd minute, Millersville's Aliza Mizak played a shot off of teammate Haley Weaver into the cage to help her team to a 3-0 win. Â

Megan Soucy registered one shot apiece.
Millersville finished the game outshooting Slippery Rock 17-3, while holding a 14-3 edge in penalty corners.
Senior goalkeeper
Carlee DuMars (3-6) recorded four saves in the loss for The Rock. Sophomore
Kayla Mack also picked up a defensive save.
The Rock will travel to Mansfield Tuesday. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
