Traditional Box (HTML) ERIE, Pa.- The Slippery Rock University field hockey team rolled to a 2-1 victory over Lindenwood Sunday morning at Mercyhurst University.
With the win, Slippery Rock improves to 3-4 overall, while Lindenwood falls to 4-4.
Despite outshooting the Lions 7-4 in the first half, The Rock managed just a 1-0 lead at the break. Lindenwood tied it up 1-1 late in the second half before SRU scored the game-winner in the final six minutes of regulation.

Megan McKay's rebound in the 32nd minute.
Lindenwood got four shots off in the second half before Nicole Johnston scored for the Lions in the 62nd minute to tie it up.
Less than three minutes later, freshman
Megan Kane netted the game-winner for SRU on her own rebound in the 65th minute.

Carlee DuMars (3-4) limited Lindenwood to just one goal in the five shots on goal that she faced.
Victoria Gill picks up the loss for the Lions after making five saves and allowing two goals.
Lindenwood finished the games with leads of 11-9 in total shots and 11-2 in penalty corners.
Slippery Rock heads to Bloomsburg for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opener Wednesday at 4 p.m.
