KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team picked up its fourth consecutive win and moved into a tie for sixth place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference standings with a 19-11 victory at Kutztown Saturday.

The victory capped a perfect weekend for The Rock (8-7, 6-4 PSAC), which defeated Millersville 16-15 yesterday, and keeps the playoff hopes alive for the team. Slippery Rock entered the weekend in seventh place in the PSAC standings, two games out of the sixth and final playoff position, but with a pair of wins this weekend and Bloomsburg dropping both of its games this weekend, The Rock got a four-game swing to move into a tie with the Huskies for sixth in the standings with two games to go. Bloomsburg won the head-to-head meeting earlier this year, so it would own the tiebreaker if the two teams finish with the same record.

Kutztown's struggles continued with the loss as the Golden Bears dropped their 13th straight game to fall to 1-13 overall and 0-10 in PSAC action.

Slippery Rock matched its season-high for scoring in the victory and finished the game with advantage of 34-28 in shots and 17-15 in draw controls. The Golden Bears managed a 31-23 edge in ground balls.

The Rock were paced by Kaytlin Callaghan with six points on three goals and three assists. Her three assists bring her to 23 on the season, tied for the most in a single-season in SRU program history. She also moved up one place to number seven on the all-time scoring list at Slippery Rock.

Paige Costantino added three goals and one assist and with her one helper moved into third on the all-time ledger at SRU in career assists.

Jasey Sanders added four goals, Erin Wilcox chipped in three goals and Anna-Marie Warrington added two goals to cap the multi-goal scorers.

Caitlynn Palladino, Ally Culhane, Chynna Chan and Bre Vodde all scored one goal and Palladino handed out one assist to cap the point scorers.

Jordan Wagner earned the win in goal after recording seven saves and allowing just five goals. She was relieved by Taylor Balbierz once the outcome of the game was in control. Balbierz allowed six goals and made two saves.

Kutztown was led by Sarah Gabriele with four goals and one assist and Jillian Spencer with two goals and one assist. Jen Bergey took the loss in goal after recording 14 saves.

Saturday's game was the final road game of the regular season for Slippery Rock, which will play the top two teams in the PSAC at home next week to close the year. Mercyhurst visits Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game and then Lock Haven will visit Saturday for a 1 p.m. game on Senior Day.
