SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- Reigning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week junior Megan McKay scored two goals, including the game winner 1:45 into the second overtime period, to lead the Slippery Rock University field hockey team to a 2-1 win over Seton Hill in the Corners for Cancer game Wednesday night at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

Slippery Rock improves to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in PSAC play, while Seton Hill falls to 0-10 overall and 0-4 in conference action.

The game was scoreless until 40 seconds before halftime when Seton Hill scored on a tip-in to take a 1-0 lead over The Rock at the break.

A frustrated Slippery Rock team was unable to get on the scoreboard until 13:47 into the second half when McKay had a spin move around her defender in the box and buried the shot in the cage to tie it up 1-1.

Neither team was able to score for the remainder of regulation or in the first 15-minute overtime period until McKay scored her 12th goal of the season on a fast break shortly into the second overtime.

SRU finished the game with advantages of 16-4 in both shots and penalty corners. McKay led SRU with five shots, while junior Erika Rohrbach registered four shots and junior Renee Rosenblum and sophomore Kailee Krupski added two shots each.

Senior goalkeeper Carlee DuMars made four saves in the win for Slippery Rock. Seton Hill sophomore goalkeeper Jane Eberhardt had eight saves in the cage for her team.

The Rock will host Indiana (Pa.) Friday night at 6 p.m.
