SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team rallied from an 11-point deficit in the second half to upset archrival and 16th ranked Indiana University (Pa.) 75-71 Saturday night in a crucial Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division showdown at Morrow Field House.

The Rock dominated on the glass and finished the game with a 47-29 advantage in total rebounds. Included in that was 25 offensive boards that led to a 27-7 advantage in second chance scoring in the game.

Indiana shot better than 60 percent for more than 25 minutes, but cooled off midway through the second half and shot just 34.8 percent for the final 20 minutes. Slippery Rock used its big advantage on the glass to stay in the game despite shooting 34.1 percent in the first half and then shot the ball much better in the second period to complete the comeback, knocking down 46.2 percent of its shots over the final 20 minutes.

The win snapped a short two-game losing skid for Slippery Rock and improved the Green and White to 13-5 overall and 8-4 in PSAC games. The win also snapped a four-game skid against The Rock's bitter rivals, was just the second win in the last 15 meetings between the two teams and keeps SRU a perfect 8-0 at home this season.

The loss snapped a PSAC-best eight-game winning streak for Indiana and dropped the Crimson Hawks to 15-3 overall and 9-3 in league action.

Chaquille Pratt was the workhorse for Slippery Rock Saturday night, posting a career-high double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds. Pratt played a career-high 34 minutes off the bench and finished the game shooting 11-of-22 from the field. He also did not turn the ball over once and recorded two steals.

Antonio Butler scored in double figures for the sixth straight game and came up huge down the stretch from the free throw line. He finished with 15 total points and was a perfect 9-of-9 at the charity stripe, including knocking down four critical free throws that iced the game in the final eight seconds and scoring six points from the line in the final minute of the game.

Frank Holloway added 11 points and six rebounds for Slippery Rock and Jamal Gatali chipped in eight points. Six of the nine players that saw the floor for The Rock grabbed at least four rebounds.

The visitors scored 34 points in the paint, just three points off turnovers, seven second chance points and 14 bench points.

Indiana scored the first four points of the game and led for the majority of the opening period. The Crimson Hawks built up an 11-point lead, 22-11, with 11:19 to play in the half. Slippery Rock got it back down to four points on three occasions, but Indiana maintained a 42-36 edge at halftime.

Slippery Rock pushed back with a 12-2 run over the next five minutes to get to within one at 51-50 with 14:26 to play and then capped a 16-4 run with a jumper from Butler to give The Rock their first lead of the second half, 54-53 with 12:18 to play.

Indiana regained control and opened up a five point gap, 63-58 with 6:28 to play, but again Slippery Rock pushed back, this time with a 9-2 run to retake the lead, 67-65 with just under two minutes to play.

Butler knocked down six free throws in the final minute, including four in the last eight seconds, to seal the 75-71 upset win.

Slippery Rock and Indiana have battled closely for much of the last five years, meeting twice in the PSAC title game, but the Crimson Hawks have come out just a hair better in 13 of the last 15 meetings. Entering Saturday night's game, Indiana was 9-1 in the last 10 meetings, but the average margin of victory in those games was just 5.5 points.

The Rock will remain home and look to keep momentum going when they welcome Clarion to Morrow Field House Wednesday night for an 8 p.m. tip. That game will be the first since Dec. 5 where Slippery Rock's student body will be back on campus as classed begin Tuesday, Jan. 20.
