INDIANA, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team dropped a close 1-0 contest at 16
th-ranked Indiana University (Pa.) in overtime Saturday afternoon at South Campus Field in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup.

The loss, the first in SRU's last four games, drops The Rock's record to 3-2-1 overall and 2-2-1 in PSAC competition. The Crimson Hawks improve to 5-1 both overall and in league play. Saturday's win was just IUP's second in its last 10 meetings against Slippery Rock.

Slippery Rock held advantages over Indiana in total shots (14-8), shots on goal (8-5) and corner kicks (6-5) In what was a terrific defensive battle throughout the entirety of the game.

Andrea Felix led all players with a game-high five total shots, four of which were on target.
Dara Demich also attempted four shots with two being on goal.
Ali Brosky and
Megan Lenzi both took one shot on goal each.
Crysta Ganter and
Marissa Clough rounded out The Rock's offensive attack with one shot apiece.

Rock Goalkeeper
Annabelle Hegeman had four saves in the defeat. She has still allowed only two goals in The Rock's last five games, which have included three overtime matches.

The difference in game came just over five minutes into overtime when IUP's Brittney Kuhns managed to take a crossing pass from Victoria Crawford and beat Rock defenders for the game-winning goal from five yards out.

Slippery Rock opened the day by totaling seven shots in the first 45 minutes, five of which were on goal, while allowing just two IUP shots to get to Hegeman, who easily made both saves to send the contest into halftime with the score 0-0.

The Rock's defense continued to contain the Crimson Hawks' attack by allowing a mere two shots in the second half. However, none of Slippery Rock's seven attempts in the second 45 minutes were able to find the back of net either and SRU was forced to play its second overtime contest in as many games.

SRU started the overtime period by being flagged offside in the 92
nd minute and less than three minutes later Crawford's cross led to Kuhns' goal to give IUP the win.

Indiana goalie Jessica Printz stopped seven shots in the shutout. Kuhns tallied four shots in addition to her goal.

The Rock will look to return to their winning ways Wednesday at 4 p.m. when they host Kutztown University at 4 p.m. at James Egli Field. SRU is 2-0-1 at home this season.
