SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University outhit visiting West Liberty (W. Va.) University by a 19-3 margin Saturday afternoon en route to a 7-0, 12-1 doubleheader sweep in non-conference baseball action at Jack Critchfield Park.

George Hebert tossed a one-hit, complete-game shutout in the opening game before senior southpaw

Colin McCoy combined for a two-hitter in the second game.
West Liberty's only run of the day came via a walk, two ground outs and a passed ball in the top of the third inning of the second game. By then, The Rock was enjoying an 8-0 advantage.

Brandon Myers each collected three RBIs and junior right fielder

Adam Jury both had three hits in the twinbill to lead The Rock hitting attack.
Myers got all his RBIs on a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning of the second game. That was one of five extra-base hits The Rock had in the twinbill. Howard had a two-run triple in the second inning of the second game. Senior first baseman

Lee Foxton each slapped a double in the first game and freshman catcher
Kevin Jovanovich stroked a two-bagger in the second game.
Hebert struck out a season-high nine batters and walked three in his seven-inning complete-game pitching effort to even his season record at 2-2.
Jeney struck out three, walked one and allowed the one unearned runs in the first five innings of the second game to improve his season record to 2-1. McCoy retired all six batters to face him in order with three groundouts and three flyouts in the final two innings.
The Rock will put their five-game win streak and 12-8 season record on the line at 1 p.m. Sunday at Critchfield Park when they face the Hilltoppers (5-15) in the final two games of the weekend series.
