SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Senior guard
Torrance Timothy scored a career-high 24 points Friday afternoon to lead hosting Slippery Rock University to an easy 113-53 win over Ohio University Eastern in non-conference men's basketball action.
The win improved SRU's season record to 6-4 and moved fourth-year head coach
Kevin Reynolds (63-35 record) into a tie with Arthur Gant (1912-18) for fifth place on SRU's all-time wins list.
Timothy hit eight of 14 shots from the field, including a 6-of-10 proficiency from beyond the 3-point arc, grabbed four rebounds and handed out three assists in 26 minutes of playing time.
All 11 players on The Rock's active roster played at least 10 minutes in the game as Reynolds substituted liberally.
Timothy was one of five Rock players who scored 10 or more points. Senior guard
John Bayardelle scored 14 points and handed out three assists, junior forward
Tabari Perry added 13 points and seven rebounds, senior point guard
Jon Valeriano chipped in 11 points and senior guard
John Bossle scored a career-high 10 points.
Freshman
Chaquille Pratt, who made his first start of the season, grabbed a team-high eight rebounds for SRU, which had a commanding 51-20 advantage on the boards. Junior

Devin Taylor (9 points) each grabbed six boards.
Jason Shaw scored a game-high 30 points to account for most of Ohio University Eastern's offense. The only Panthers player to score 10 or more points, Shaw also grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Final statistics gave further indication of The Rock's dominance of the action. SRU made 60% (47-79) of its field goal attempts, buried 14 of 29 (48%) of its 3-point shots and canned five of six (83%) free throws. The Green and White also turned the ball over only 10 times.
Ohio University Eastern had shooting woes on its action attempts as the Panthers made only 33% (19-57) of its field-goal tries and were 3-of-18 (17%) on long-range shots. The guests committed 14 turnovers.
The guests scored the first two points of the game before SRU went on a 31-9 run to take a 20-point lead midway through the first half of action.
The Rock expanded its margin to 33 points, 56-23, with 1:30 left before halftime and took a 56-25 lead into the intermission.
Midway through the final 20 minutes of action, the hosts held a 49-point, 84-35, advantage. The largest lead of the game was the final 60-point difference.

The 14 treys delivered Friday by The Rock were double its previous single-game high this winter. SRU nailed seven long-range shots in each of three previous games and was shooting 33% from beyond the arc prior to Friday … Timothy was 5-of-15 on 3-point shots in the first nine games this winter ... Friday's game marked the second time this winter, the third time in six meetings with Ohio University Eastern and the seventh time in Reynolds' four seasons as head coach at The Rock scored 100 or more points in a game … SRU is 6-0 all-time against Ohio University Eastern with an average winning margin of 41 points (101-60) … Reynolds needs two wins to tie Dave Rooney (1979-85) for fourth place on SRU's career wins chart ... Friday's game was only the second played by The Rock since Dec. 10 due to SRU fall-semester final exams and the NCAA-mandated "down period" from Dec. 20-26 ...
