Slippery Rock University's softball team (13-11) lost both games against PSAC-West rivals and No. 15 ranked California University of Pennsylvania.
The Rock lost a 2-1 decision in the first game of the day.
California was quick to score in the first inning and SRU did not answer until Shardea Croes scored The Rock's only run in the third inning. Courtney Vincent picked up the RBI.
The Rock collected only four hits in the game while California (Pa.) tallied eight.
Sophomore Shauna Walker was on the mound for The Green and White. She gave up 7 hits and both runs that were scored by California (Pa.). Walker also tallied two strike outs.
In game two, SRU scored only one run as the California (Pa.) Vulcan's were victorious by a score of 10-1 that ended in the fifth inning.
Sheree Horvath scored The Rock's lone run while also recording two hits. Courtney Vincent let The Green and White in hits with three while Jessica Kortz and Whitney Warmus each had one hit.
Senior Lisa Getgen gave up five hits and five runs before Erin Bukvic took over on the mound. Bukvic game up 12 hits and also allowed five runs.
The Rock looks to rebound from this afternoon's losses as they travel to Bloomsburg to challenge the Huskies of Bloomsburg Unversity. The first pitch is set for 1 p.m.
