SALEM, Va. -- Slippery Rock University's softball team lost four of five games against NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rivals last weekend in a competition held at the Moyer Softball Complex.
SRU lost a 4-0 decision to West Liberty State and won a 5-1 decision over Wheeling Jesuit in opening-day action last Friday.
The following day, The Rock lost 7-4 and 7-6 decisions to Alderson-Broaddus and Glenville State, respectively.
Fairmont State blanked The Rock by a 5-0 score Sunday.
The results dropped SRU's season record to 13-9 heading into a Thursday twinbill at regional rival Salem International.
Those games will be the start of a string of six games SRU is scheduled to play in the span of three days. The Rock visits sixth-ranked California U. of Pa. for a 2:30 p.m. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division doubleheader Friday, then travels to Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. PSAC interdivisional doubleheader Saturday.
Saturday's games will conclude a string of 11 straight road games for the Green and White, who host PSAC-West rival Mercyhurst in a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader April 3.
