SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Approximately 100 past and present Rock runner gathered Saturday for the 30th running of the Rock Cross Country and Track and Field Race on the SRU campus.
The event started at 11 a.m. adjacent to James W. Egli Soccer Field, the Blase S. Scarnati Band Practice Field and SRU's new dorm project (shown in the background of the photo above), the site of the annual 5,000-meter Alumni CC Race.
A "little kids" race followed before the group moved to the cross/track and field office in Morrow Field House for a ceremony in memory of Tom Haines and his family, victims of a violent crime in May 2007.
Also included in the event was a picnic at the Ski Lodge on the SRU campus, a group picture of all those in attendance and a meet-and-greet with this year's Rock cross country team.
