EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Rock's dry spell vs. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rivals reached eight games Sunday as hosting Edinboro recorded a 2-1, 2-0 sweep vs. the Green and White.

The Rock (14-10 overall, 0-8 PSAC-W) was held to only two hits in each of Sunday's games, the first of which included two extra innings of play.

Stacey Rhoades had an infield single to load the bases with no outs in the top of the first inning of Game 1 and set the stage for what would prove to be the only scoring done by The Rock.

A one-out sacrifice bunt by Jessica Ellebruch pushed the run across the plate.

The only other Game 1 hit for SRU was a leadoff single in the fifth inning by Sheree Horvath. The score was tied at 1-1 at the time and remained that way as a double play immediately after Horvath's hit killed The Rock rally.

A one-out triple by Dana Webb and a two-out RBI single by Alicia Gordon plated the winning run for Edinboro in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Rhoades was tagged with the loss, her second in as many days and second in seven decisions this spring, after she allowed two earned runs on six hits in eight and two-thirds innings. She also struck out one and walked two.

Vanessa Rose struck out a career-high 15 batters for Edinboro and became the school's all-time leader in career wins in Game 1 and came back to fan seven batters in Game 2.

The Rock was held without a hit in Game 2 until Jessica Kortz slapped a leadoff single in the fifth inning. A forceout and a double play followed to leave The Rock down by a 2-0 score.

Ashley Lowrey singled to lead off The Rock seventh but was left stranded at first by three flyball outs.

Lisa Getgen (5-4) was tagged with the Game 2 loss after she allowed two unearned runs on six hits and struck out two in six innings.

Edinboro manufactured its first Game 2 run from a pair of singles and a Rock fielding error in the bottom of the first inning and got its second run via a two-out single, a passed ball and a Rock error.

The Rock will seek to snap a four-game losing streak Thursday when it hosts Lake Erie College in a 3 p.m. non-conference doubleheader.
