Saturday's wins extended SRU's current win streak to four games and gives the Green and White an 18-10 overall record and a 2-8 PSAC-West mark

PLEASE NOTE: Schedule change: The Rock's doubleheader vs. California (Pa.)., originally scheduled for last Friday and rescheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, has been postponed again and is now scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday in Slippery Rock.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. --
The Rock whitewashed visiting Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Clarion by 3-0 and 9-0 scores Saturday afternoon to extend its current win streak to four games.

The wins were the first division victories of the season for SRU, which now owns an 18-10 overall record and a 2-8 division mark.

Clarion now stands 3-18 overall, 0-10 in PSAC-West action and is the sole resident in the division cellar.

Stacey Rhoades (6-2) pitched a three-hit complete game to lead The Rock to victory in Game 1 before Lisa Getgen (7-4) and Shauna Walker combined for a four-hitter in Game 2.

Game 2 was halted at the end of five innings in accordance with the mercy rule.

The Rock collected a total of 19 hits in Saturday's twinbill, 11 of which came in Game 2. Courtney Vincent had two hits in each game to finish with a team-high four hits on the day, while Nikki Collins, Jessica Ellebruch (pictured above) and Jordan Zeunges each had three hits.

Meghan McHenry picked up two RBIs in each game to lead The Rock in that category. She hit a two-run home run to account for her Game 2 RBIs.

Ellebruch had three RBIs, all on a Game 2 home run, Collins and Rhoades each had a pair of RBIs on the day and Zeunges plated one run.

Collins slapped an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning to push across what would prove to be the game-winning run in the first game.

A two-run single by McHenry in the fifth inning plated the final two runs of the game.

The Rock erupted for three first-inning runs, added two tallies in the second, one in the tird and three in the fourth to bring an early end to Game 2.

McHenry's two-run home run to left field and an RBI single by Rhoades accounted for the first-inning runs.

Zeunges slapped an RBI single and Rhoades hit a sacrifice fly to plate the second-inning runs and Collins singled home the third-inning tally.

Ellebruch's one-out home run in the fourth accounted for the final three runs.

Getgen allowed four hits, struck out two and walked one in four innings before Walker walked one in the final frame.

The Rock will open a busy week of action with a 2:30 p.m. division doubleheader Monday vs. California U. of Pa.

SRU then travels to Mercyhurst for a 3 p.m. non-conference twinbill Tuesday before hosting Lock Haven, Edinboro and Wheeling Jesuit on consecutive days next Friday through Sunday.
