COCOA BEACH,  Fla. -- Lisa Getgen and Shauna Walker tossed back-to-back shutouts Monday afternoon to lead the NCAA Division II Rock to a 4-0, 12-0 doubleheader sweep of Division III New England College.

The wins came in SRU's inaugural games on the annual spring-break trip to the Sunshine State and gave the Green and White a 4-0 record heading into Tuesday's twinbill vs. the University of New England, another Division III opponent.

Getgen tossed a no-hitter and came within one hitter of pitching a perfect game in Monday's opener. She struck out six batters.

Walker allowed two hits, struck out one and walked two in Game 2.

The Rock scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning of Game 1 and never looked back. Key hits in the uprising were a leadoff single by Shardea Croes, an RBI double by Nikki Collins, a run-scoring single by Stacey Rhoades and a sacrifice fly by Jessica Kortz.

SRU scored it final Game 1 run in the fourth inning, when Meghan McHenry slapped a one-out single, moved to second on a walk to Jessica Ellebruch and scored on an RBI double by Croes.

Croes was the only Rock player to have more than one hit in the game; The Rock had seven safeties as a team.

SRU scored one run in the top of the first inning of Game 2, added five tallies in the second, one in the sixth and five in the seventh.

Croes tripled and stole home to account for the first run of the game.

Jordan Zeunges smacked a two-run double and Rhoades clobbered a three-run home run to plate the second-inning runs and Whitney Warmus ripped an RBI double to plate the sixth-inning tally.

Kim Weindel smacked a three-run home run and Amber Phillips and Emily Novitsky each had an RBI single to highlight the seventh-inning explosion.

Zeunges was 3-for-4 with a double and Croes, McHenry and Weindel each added two hits in SRU's 14-hit Game 2 attack.
