SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Senior Jeff Weiss and junior Pat Reagan both earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-America honors by virtue of their finishes in Saturday's NCAA Division II national championships at Cooper's Lake Campground.
Weiss (pictured above) earned All-America honors for the fourth time in as many collegiate seasons when he finished eighth in Saturday's individual competition. He finished the 10K race with a time of 31:32, one minute and nine seconds behind indivdual champion Scott Bauhs of Chico State.
Weiss finished third in national competition as a freshman in 2005, placed 15th place as a sophomore in 2006 and 37th a year ago.
Reagan earned All-America honors for the second straight year by virtue of his 34th-place finish and time of 32:09. He finished 12th a year ago in national competition in Joplin, Mo.
Weiss and Reagan were the only Rock representatives in Saturday's men's competition. They earned their national berths with third- and fourth-place finishes, respectively, in the Atlantic Regional meet held Nov. 8 at Cooper's Lake.
The Rock finished third as a team in the regional meet,, one spot shy of earning a second straight team berth in national competition.
