Rock drops 35-14 Homecoming decision to #16 Edinboro

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –
Trevor Harris passed for 378 yards and school-record-tying five touchdowns Saturday afternoon to lead visiting Edinboro to a 35-14 win over The Rock in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
 
The win improved Edinboro's overall record to 7-1 and its PSAC-West mark to 4-1. The Rock fell to 4-4, 2-3.
 
The loss ruined SRU's homecoming celebration and was only the fourth defeat suffered by a George Mihalik-coached Rock team in 21 SRU homecoming games under his guidance.

Behind Harris' leadership, the Fighting Scots – ranked 16th in the latest American Football Coaches Association Division II national poll – accumulated 481 yards in total offense.
 
The Rock finished with 223 yards in total offense, 170 passing and 53 rushing.
 
Rich Cerro caught six passes for 62 yards and two TDs for Edinboro, which held a 28-0 lead at halftime. Denayne Dixon caught five passes for 60 yards and Josh Brown, Ryan Rybicki and Jeremy Burr each caught one TD pass.
 
The Rock touchdowns came via the pass. Starting quarterback Brandon Frohnapple threw a 22-yard TD to Jermale Cromerdie (pictured above) to make it 28-7 midway through the third period. Backup QB Brad Galvan connected with Dallas Richardson for a 38-yard score with 14 seconds left to play.

Richardson finished the game with a team-best 49 yards in pass receptions on three catches.
 
Frohnapple was 13 of 22 passing for 122 yards and had one pass intercepted. Galvan was 4 of 11 for 48 yards without an interception.
 
Edinboro recorded seven sacks in the game for -57 yards. Mike Perillo had three of the sacks for -30 yards.
 
The Rock recorded two sacks for -14 yards. Tyler Boudreau had one for -9 yards and Richie Barnes one for -5 yards.

Barnes and Sam Morant each recorded seven tackles for SRU. Boudreau had a team-best two tackles for loss for -10 yards.

The Rock travels to #6 California (Pa.) next Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. PSAC-West contests.
