Salem, W. Va. - The Rock established a new school record for single-season wins on Tuesday when it waltzed to a 6-0, 9-0 doubleheader sweep of hosting Salem International in non-conference action.

The wins improved SRU's season record to 26-18 and bettered the previous school record of 24 wins in 43 games by the 2005 squad.

The Rock has now won 12 of its last 14 games, the last four via shutouts tossed by senior right-hander Courtney Conron.

Conron, who now owns a 11-7 record and has thrown eight shutouts this fall, tossed a one-hitter in Tuesday's first game and pitched a two-hitter in the second game. She struck out two and five batters in the respective games while allowing one walk in each contest.

Stacey Rhoades paced The Rock's Game 1 offensive attack with a double and two RBIs, Meghan McHenry smacked a solo home run, Kelly Wolfe was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Lauren Saulter was also 2-for-2, Kim Weindel picked up an RBI and Emily Novitsky added a double.

Rhoades hit a two-run home run, her 14th roundtripper of the season, and Saulter added a solo shot to pace SRU's Game 2 attack. Alicia Dixon was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Jessica Kortz 2-for-2 with one RBI, Lisa Getgen 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI and Wolfe had one RBI.

The Rock returns to action on Friday, when it will travel to Indiana U. of Pa. for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division doubleheader.

The Green and White then close out their regular-season season schedule with a 1 p.m. PSAC-West twinbill Saturday vs. defending NCAA Division II national champion and current No. 1-ranked Lock Haven.

SRU is currently in fourth place in the PSAC-West, one game behind both California (Pa.) and Edinboro, and entertains hopes of earning a berth in the PSAC playoffs for the first time since 1984. The top three teams in the division will earn a berth in the conference tournament (May 3-5 on the home field of the PSAC-East champion).

The Rock is also challenging for its first-ever berth in NCAA postseason competition. SRU was ranked ninth in last week's Division II Mid-Atlantic Regional poll; the top eight teams in the final regular-season poll will compete in the regional tournament (May 10-13).
