Vienna, W. Va. - Jessica Kortz smacked three home runs and Courtney Conron tossed two shutouts Monday to propel The Rock to a 14-0, 10-0 non-conference doubleheader sweep of hosting Ohio Valley University.

The Rock has won 10 of its last 12 games and equalled the school record for single-season wins. The Green and White own a 24-18 record heading into Tuesday's non-conference doubleheader at Salem International.

The 2005 Rock squad finished the season with a 24-19 record.

Kortz hit two solo home runs in Monday's first game and added a two-run shot in the second game to improve her season total to 12. She was 3-for-3 with two RBIs in Game 1 and finished the day 4-for-6 with four RBIs.

Stacey Rhoades hit a two-run home run in Game 1 to improve her school-record total to 13 and had a double in each game, while Kelly Conron helped her older sister's cause with a solo home run in Game 1.

Meghan McHenry had a double and three RBIs and Kayla Ray added a double in Game 1.

McHenry was 4-for-5 with two RBIs in Game 2 to finish the day with a 6-for-9 effort and five RBIs. Ray was 3-for-4 in Game 2 and finished the day with a 5-for-8 effort and one RBI.

Courtney Vincent was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Amber Phillips and Kelly Wolfe added a double each to round out the Game 2 hitting stars.

SRU pounded out 13 hits in Game 1 and added 15 in Game 2.

Courtney Conron, meanwhile, was holding Ohio Valley to three hits in Game 1 and six hits in Game 2. She struck out four and walked one in each game.

The shutouts were her school-record fifth and sixth of the season. Conron now owns a 9-7 record this spring.

The Rock, after visiting Salem International on Tuesday, will turn its attention to Friday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division doubleheader at Indiana U. of Pa.

SRU is currently in fourth place in the PSAC-West standings and harbors hope of earning its first conference playoff berth since 1982. The top three teams in the division will advance to the PSAC playoffs.

The Rock is also in contention for a berth in the NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament. SRU was ranked ninth in last week's poll; the top eight teams in the final regular-season poll will compete in the regional tournament.
