Phil Butch collected three hits and three RBIs on Sunday to lead The Rock to its second successive doubleheader sweep of Tiffin University in action at Veterans Administration Memorial Stadium.
Butch, a senior shortstop, hit the first home run of his collegiate career in The Rock's 5-4 win in the first game of Sunday's twinbill, then was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in Game 2.
Behind his lead, The Rock improved its season record to 4-0.
SRU won 2-0 and 6-5 decisions on Saturday.
Joining Butch as the hitting stars in Game 1 on Sunday were Jim Eimiller and M.J. Parsons, who each had a pair of hits and picked up one RBI.
Josh Rape pitched the first four innings of Game 1 and allowed four earned runs on seven hits, struck out one and walked two.
Sean Holliday picked up the Game 1 win with a three-inning relief effort. He allowed one hit, struck out one and walked one.
Craig Misiewicz was The Rock's Game 2 starter and chalked up the win after he allowed one run on three hits, struck out two and walked two in four innings.
Chris Squeglia walked three and struck out one in two innings of relief before Vince Lloyd came in and struck out two batters in one inning to pick up the save.
The Rock is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday and Wednesday with doubleheaders at Salem International and Shepherd, respectively.
Both Salem International and Shepherd are NCAA Division II North Atlantic Regional rivals of The Rock, who seek to return to regional tournament competition after missing out a year ago.
