Final Stats
Indiana, Pa. -
Jamar Scales scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds, Kenny Smith added nine points and Glenn Reepmeyer contributed a team-best 11 rebounds Wednesday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action at Indiana U. of Pa.
But the trio's efforts went for naught as The Rock suffered through its worst scoring night of the season and dropped a 47-44 decision to hosting Crimson Hawks.
The loss dropped SRU's overall record to 5-19 and its PSAC-West mark to 2-7 and put SRU in last place in the division.
Indiana, which had shared the division cellar with The Rock prior to the game, is now 6-17 overall and 3-6 in PSAC-West action with two of those wins coming at the expense of The Rock.
Wednesday's point total was the lowest recorded by a Rock men's team since Dec. 17, 2005, when the Green and White managed only 43 points at Mercyhurst.
The Rock will look to bounce back and keep alive its flickering hopes for its first conference playoff berth since the 1999-2000 PSAC runnersup campaign when it hosts division rival Shippensburg at 3 p.m. Saturday in Morrow Field House.
Saturday's game will be part of a Youth Sports Day event that will feature free admission for all youth 14 years of age and under. Youth in attendance will also receive coupons for free hot dogs and beverages at the concession stand.
