Lock Haven, Pa. - Rock All-America performer Jeff Weiss rebounded from a sub-par performance last week in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship meet to claim individual honors in Saturday's NCAA Division II East Regional meet.

His effort led The Rock to a second-place team finish, which earned the Green and White a berth in the national meet Nov. 17 in Joplin, Mo.

The Rock finished second behind Edinboro for the second successive week.

In women's action, Jaime Wright's fifth-place individual effort led The Rock to a seventh-place team finish.

Wright's performance Saturday earned her an individual berth in the national championship meet in Missouri.

She and Weiss were two of five Rock runners who earned all-region honors as a result of their performances Saturday

Pat Reagan finished one spot behind Weiss in the men's race with a second-place time of 31:01, while Matt Bluman -- who won the PSAC individual title a week ago -- placed fourth Saturday at 31:14 and Chris Geddis finished 14th at 31:56.

The top 15 individual finishers in the regional meet garnered all-region honors.

George Walton's 37th-place time of 32:52 accounted for The Rock's fifth men's finisher.

Katie Bork was SRU's No. 2 finisher in the women's race with a time of 22:22, while Leslie Kramer placed 38th at 23:02, Sarah Thompson was 48th at 23:21 and Rebecca Younger was 72nd at 23:44.

Edinboro won the men's team title by an 11-point margin over SRU (47-58), with Lock Haven in third place at 95 points.

Bloomsburg won the women's team title with 62 points. SRU finished with 177 points.

Notes:

  • Weiss also won the regional individual title as a freshman in 2005 and was the regional runner-up a year ago. He earned All-America honors with a No. 3 national finish in 2005 and a No. 15 finish last fall.
