The Rock softball team saw its PSAC record fall to 0-3 on the season and 13-10 overall as the Fighting Scots of Edinboro edged the homestanding Rock by a 3-2 score.
Edinboro plated two runs in the first inning and added what proved to be the game-winning run in the second inning.
The Rock smacked eight hits in the game, led by Courtney Conron's two-run triple in the fourth inning, but stranded seven runners in the contest.
Lisa Getgen doubled and singled for The Rock and Andrea Murdock added two singles.
Stacey Rhoades, Meghan McHenry and Laura Campbell all roped singles for The Rock in the loss.
Picking up the loss on the mound was Brittany Hahn who tossed one and two thirds innings, falling to 7-5 on the season.
Jenna Frieling hurled five and a third innings for The Rock, striking out one.
The Rock will look to rebound and pick up its first PSAC-West win of the season in game two of the doubleheader against Edinboro.
