No. 10 Lock Haven sweeps doubleheader from The Rock

Lock Haven, Pa. - The Rock softball team opened up Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western-Division action today, dropping both ends of a doubleheader at No. 10 Lock Haven Friday afternoon by scores of 10-2 and 4-0.

In game one, the hosts pounded out 14 hits in the contest, while The Rock could manage only three hits of their own.

Meghan McHenry singled home a run for The Rock, and Stacey Rhoades also added an RBI.

Kelly Conron doubled and Andrea Murdock added a single, for the only other Rock hits of the game.

Taking the loss on the mound was Lisa Getgen, who struck out one batter in three and two thirds innings. Getgen is now 3-1 on the season.

Jenna Frieling also threw two innings for The Rock.

The loss snapped The Rock's win streak at seven games.

In the nightcap, Lock Haven smacked 10 hits in the game, en route to a 4-0 win.

Brittany Hahn picked up the loss on the mound for The Rock, striking out three batters. Hahn now falls to 7-4 on the season.

Kelly Wolfe had the lone Rock hit of the game, a double in the sixth inning.

With the losses, The Rock's season record falls to 13-9 overall and 0-2 in PSAC-West action.

The Rock looks to rebound and pick up its first conference wins of the year when it hosts Edinboro Saturday for a doubleheader. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
