McKees Rocks, Pa. - The Rock softball team picked up its sixth straight win, and ninth win of its last ten games, downing host Point Park 5-1 Tuesday in the first game of a doubleheader.

The game remained scoreless through five innings before The Rock erupted for two runs in the sixth. Meghan McHenry led off the inning with a solo home run and Alicia Dixon doubled home a run to put The Rock on top.

The Rock added three additional runs in the seventh frame, with Stacey Rhoades blasting a two-run homer.

Courtney Conron and Andrea Murdock added a single a piece for the only other Rock hits of the game.

Lisa Getgen picked up the win on the mound for The Rock, fanning ten Pioneer batters and scattering four hits over seven innings.

The win improves The Rock's overall record to 12-7 on the year, while Point Park drops to 1-8 on the season.
