Ft. Myers, Fla. - The second inning proved to be deadly for The Rock softball team Friday afternoon, as West Chester plated all three of its runs in the inning on two Rock errors.

The Rock struck first in the contest, on a Meghan McHenry single scoring Stacey Rhoades. An Andrea Murdock single in the fifth inning would bring the game within one run, but that is the closest The Rock would get in the contest.

Brittany Hahn picked up the loss on the mound, striking out two in a complete game effort.

The Rock was led at the plate by Stacey Rhoades with two singles and a triple. Courtney Conron also singled twice, while Andrea Murdock and Meghan McHenry each singled and drove home a run in the game.

Lindsay Rodgers had the only other Rock hit of the game, a single in the second inning.

The loss drops The Rock's record to 6-7 on the season.

The Rock will look to rebound in the second game of the double-header with West Chester, scheduled for 6 p.m.
