Rock tumbles, 82-71, at Edinboro

Edinboro, Pa. - Four Rock players finished with double-figure scoring totals Wednesday night, but the effort again went for naught as The Rock dropped an 82-71 decision at Edinboro.

Brandon Thompson led The Rock attack with 20 points, Matt Hale added 18, Jamar Scales chipped in 14 and Dejan Jancic added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

The Rock never trailed in the first half and enjoyed an 11-point, 34-23, lead with nine minutes left in the first half. SRU took a four-point, 39-35, advantage into intermission.

Edinboro scored the first seven points of the second half to completely erased the halftime deficit and take a three-point (43-39) lead with just more than a minute gone in the final stanza.

Aside from three brief, one-point Rock edges, the Fighting Scots never trailed in the final 20 minutes.

The loss extended The Rock's school-record losing skid to 21 games and dropped SRU's record to 1-22 overall, 0-8 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action.

Edinboro is now 15-7 overall, 6-1 in PSAC-West action.

The Rock returns to action on Saturday, when it will host Lock Haven in a 3 p.m. PSAC-West game in Morrow Field House.
