Jamar Scales recorded team-high totals of 14 points and seven rebounds Monday night in The Rock's 80-54 loss at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival.
Brandon Thompson added 12 points for The Rock (1-21 overall, 0-7 PSAC-West), while Matt Hale had 11 points.
Monday's loss was a school-record-setting 20th straight suffered by The Rock.
California improved its record to 15-6, 5-2.
The hosts scored the first seven points of the game and never led by less than four points.
The halftime margin was 13 points, 39-26. SRU battled back to trim the margin to only four points, 43-39, with 15:45 left in the game.
California responded with eight unanswered points and held a double-digit lead throughout the final 13 minutes of action.
The Rock returns to action on Wednesday, when it will travel to Edinboro for a 7:30 p.m. PSAC-West game.
SRU hosts division rival Lock Haven at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Morrow Field House.
