Rock rolls past Indiana (Pa.), 3-0, in NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional quarterfinals

Lock Haven, Pa. - Sara Kirsch recorded six service aces and 38 assists Thursday afternoon to lead the third-seeded Rock to a 3-0 win over fourth-seeded Indiana U. of Pa. in quarterfinal action of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional tournament.

The 30-24, 30-12, 30-28 win improves SRU's season record to 31-8 and moves the Green and White into Friday's 5 p.m. regional semifinal against either second-seeded California U. of Pa. or seventh-seeded Lees-McRae (N.C.).

Anastasia Urbanik had a team-high 12 kills and three blocks for The Rock, which recorded its first regional tournament win since 1993, while Louise Schultz added 11 kills and two service aces.

Katie Greco had four blocks and Gwen Oberlin a team-high eight digs for SRU.

Thursday's win gives this year's squad the most wins by a Rock volleyball team since the 1994 unit recorded a best-ever 40-10 mark.
