The Rock saw its bid for the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional championship come to an end Friday when hosting West Chester recorded a 4-0 win in semifinal action.
The loss gave SRU a 12-7-1 final record for the 2006 season.
West Chester, the tournament's top seed, scored what proved to be the game-winning goal after only three minutes had elapsed and added three insurance tallies in the second half.
All-America candidate Julie Karcher scored one goal and had two assists for West Chester, which will take a 21-0 record into Sunday's regional championship game.
The Golden Rams will meet the winner of Friday's second semifinal game between second-seeded Indiana U. of Pa. and third-seeded New Haven.

The Rock earned the No. 4 seed in this year's regional tournament by earning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division regular-season runnerup and PSAC playoff semifinalist honors.
This year's regional tournament appearance was The Rock's third since 2001. SRU earned regional runner-up honors in 2001 and lost to West Chester in the semifinals in 2003.
Notes: Friday's game was the final collegiate game for three Rock seniors: defender Kelly Blake, midfielder Martina Hall and forward Nici Spamer ... The dozen wins this fall marked the ninth straight season in which The Rock recorded at least 10 wins in a season ... The Rock earned a fourth successive berth in the PSAC playoffs this fall and also made a fourth straight appearance in the conference semifinals ... Veteran head coach Noreen Herlihy's program won PSAC titles in 2003 and 2005.
